It's pretty great, especially for a 'non-operating' park.

We did 1 overnight to Wolf Lake from Devil's Lake access point (roughly 7km).

The best part is parking and camping is free and the area is essentially crown land. There are several lakes you cannot camp on and they are listed on the Ontario parks website.

This is a great location in central Ontario to go hiking, camping, fishing etc. We come here often and camp along the Ganaraska Trail starting at the Devil's Lake parking lot on the east side. The trail is mild to moderately difficult and has several water crossings which can get you a bit wet.

The trails are pretty advanced and I wouldn't recommend this place to casual hikers.

I'm glad that we brought marking tape because the trail could use a bit of clarification.

Crown land. Thus meaning free! However there are talks that it will be more regulated in the near future. Being free often times means a lot of things are left behind. There is a lot of traffic of people close to the parking, but once you get past that you are virtually alone. Moderate-advance trails as there is a bit of bush wacking, traversing marshes and logs, and rock scrambles. Certain areas aren't well marked so it is important to keep your eyes open. Lots of bugs in the spring time!

We met a park warden when we were packing up who was super friendly and told of how they're trying to develop the park.

Beautiful park. No amenities. Very rugged terrain, not recommended for beginners. I've been there 3 times already and will go many more times. Free to park and camp. Park is insanely quiet, highly unlikely you will see another person.
